The
circulatory system is one of the most important areas
where a person can make a difference in his or her health.
Almost all of the factors that increase the risk of
circulatory ailments, are caused by things we can change.
Lifestyle factors include emotional stress, physical
inactivity and sedentary lifestyle, smoking and taking
birth control medication.
The circulation of blood around the body is vital to
the absorption of essential oils, whether they are absorbed
through the skin or inhaled (and of course a certain
amount will always be inhaled when oils are applied
to the skin. Molecules pass very quickly into the bloodstream
and this is how they are transported to all parts of
the body. This also includes nutrients from our food
and oxygen from the air we breathe that are essential
to every process in maintaining life. Our circulatory
system is the means by which they reach the individual
cells.
Aromatherapy can benefit the circulatory system in many
ways especially where emotional stress, fluid retention,
poor circulation, varicose veins and haemorrhoids are
concerned.
Stress
Stress reduction should be a major component in any
wellness program. Stress plays a major role in development
of illness particularly disorders of the circulatory
system, since the heart and great vessels respond to
our emotional state.
