This is a skin disorder characterised by eruptive weeping sores that crust over with a hard, yellow-brownish coat. Fluid and pus can accumulate underneath. The skin area surrounding is often inflamed, and may be tender. The bacteria can cause the lymph glands to swell and be tender in the surrounding areas. Impetigo is very contagious.
