This is one of the three oils obtained from the orange tree, the others are neroli from the flowers and orange from the rind of the fruit. Sometimes called "poor man's Neroli" Petitgrain 's unique bittersweet cologne aroma is calming and nurturing.

The Oil of Petitgrain is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of Citrus aurantium, the Orange tree. This oil acquired its namesake from the 'little fruits'. Petitgrain carries an invigorating floral tone with a bitter note and is an ingredient of many classic perfumes and colognes and is the classic ingredient of eau-de-cologne. 

Oil Properties:

Petitgrain Oil has a woody and at the same time an invigorating floral smell. The colour of the oil is pale yellow to amber. Its scent charactersitic is a Top to Middle Note.

Applications:

For relief of Insomnia, restlessness and for calming and nurturing during convalescence - Bath: 5 drops (1/4mL) dispersed in bath water. Vaporisation: 5 drops (1/4mL) in water in oil burner. Massage: 5 drops (1/4mL) to 10 mL Sunspirit carrier oil. Rub into shoulders and neck twice daily or apply as a full body massage before bed. 

For the care of Minor Skin Blemishes - Skin or facial: 5 drops (1/4mL) to 10mL Sunspirit carrier oil. Apply twice daily.
