Stress
Relief and Essential Oils
Vapourising
essential oils or adding a few drops of oil to a bath at the end
of the day are simple ways to instill calm.
We’ve all been there
at some time or another. Some of us handle stress better than others and
some of us don’t seem to be able to get off the train and onto the right
track.
Believe it or not,
nature has provided some of the best products to help soothe those frazzled
nerves.
- Is the work
load spinning you out?
- Are you pushing
unimaginable deadlines?
- Is your partner
making unrealistic demands?
- your kids
driving you around the bend?

Receiving a massage
would be perfectly ideal, however it is not always possible or practical.
But that doesn’t mean we have to be denied the pleasure altogether. A
relaxing massage oil can be applied as an all over body oil or you can
kick off your shoes and indulge your tired feet in a revitalising foot
bath.
Here are some other
handy (and not too stressful!) suggestions to relieve stress and tension
and help convert your chaos into calm.
MUSIC
It has been proven that sound therapy has a positive effect on agitated
and emotional states. Replace the TV din with relaxation music of soft,
soul-soothing sounds. This will help take our attention away from some
of the negative news events that influence our daily lives and create
stressful energy.
LIGHTING
Turn off all the lights in the house that aren’t necessary and where practical
light some beeswax candles to enhance the atmosphere.

Clean out the oil burner.
If dirty with a crust of residue leftover from the last time you used it,
add some methylated spirits to the dish and wipe clean. Put in some hot
water and add essential oils.
For winding down,
choose a Sunspirit Aromatherapy environmental living blend ie: NURTURE,
HARMONY, HEAVEN or
SERENITY to convey some light-hearted aromatic
nurturing.
NOURISHMENT
Love your body. Go on a cleansing nutritional program. Remember, the rubbish
that you have been feeding your body is the same rubbish that is feeding
your stress. This needn’t be a major event in your life. It can be a simple
fruit and vegie juice cleanse for a few days or cutting back on acid forming
foods such as alcohol, coffee and those greasy hot chips. Drink lots of
water and you’ll find yourself handling those emotional upsets so much
better.
EXERCISE
Don’t panic! If you’re not doing any, a moderate amount will help. Walking
- it used to be what we did to get from one place to another - now it’s
called exercise! Find time to enjoy nature and get amongst it. An early
morning stroll on the beach if you live near the ocean or enjoying an
evening sunset walk is a nice way to exercise. Let go and most of all
enjoy the life you’ve been gifted.
HAVE
FUN!
Important! You’ll only stress more if you don’t.
