Aromatherapy
for the Bathroom, Laundry and Kitchen

Essential oils contain
hormones, antibiotics, pheromones and cell regenerating agents that nourish,
energise and protect the living plant. These properties strengthen the
plant’s immunity to disease by killing bacteria and neutralising viruses.
By extracting essential oils from plants
we too can harness their healing qualities, apply them to the human body
and use them in our living environment. The bathroom, kitchen and laundry
are the perfect places to use the benefits of aromatherapy.

In
the bathroom
One of the most successful
means of harnessing the immense value of essential oils is through bathing.
As Hippocrates said in 500BC "the way to health is to have an aromatic
bath and scented massage every day."
Selecting essential
oils for your bath will depend on what you are trying to achieve, on your
skin type and on your preference for different aromas. We all have personal
tastes, so a selection of oils that might have helped your friend might
not necessarily be appropriate for you.
When bathing, it is
especially important to choose aromas that you love, because it won’t
be a positive experience if you don’t like the smell. If an aroma doesn’t
appeal to you, there are usually alternatives that will achieve the desired
effect, as essential oils have versatile healing properties.

To disperse your oils you can add Sunspirit Solubilizer
a ready to use solubilizing agent. Essential oils by their very nature
are highly concentrated; they must be treated as medicines and they are
not to be splashed around, so ‘less is more’ applies. By the same token,
they are great value; one small bottle will last and last, as you need
to use only small quantities. Here are some aromatherapy recipes to use
in the bath, along with solubilizer, for health or emotional concerns.
The quantities listed here are for adults.

Fresheners |
Unlike synthetic sprays,
natural oils will not cause pathogens to mutate and your kitchen will
smell fresh and delicious.
For
the Bathroom
Air Fresheners
Essential Oils work
brilliantly as natural air fresheners for the toilet. Not only do they
possess stunning, natural aromas, but they are also highly anti-bacterial.
Once you start using
your own natural air fresheners, you will wonder how you ever endured
the chemical and synthetic variety.
You can try Sunspirit's
ready-to-use Air Fresheners or blend your own. You will need a spritzer
bottle, good aromatherapy companies sell spritzer bottles that are designed
for dispensing essential oil blends.
All essential oils
are anti-bacterial, so you can simply choose a selection that appeals
to your senses, but if you prefer a specific blend try the following recipes.

To 50mL water add:

Freshener
Added to your washing, eucalyptus oil is an excellent deodoriser and is
also reputed to kill dust-mites. To half a cup of water add 10 drops of
eucalyptus oil and two drops of solubilizer. Throw this in with the final
rinse and enjoy the freshness.

Kitchen Oils
Use lemon or orange oil to wipe down the kitchen bench at night to kill
